We are delighted to announce that after 07 successful years of serving esteemed Universities/Colleges/Institutes of National Importance in India with our world-class initiatives in the open-source-based GIS domain, reaching every state and union territory of India, empowering faculty and students, etc.. We are now expanding our offerings into the wider domains of #Geospatial #Sciences and #Technology at grassroots levels, building capacity at scale as our contribution towards #AtmanirbharBharat and #ViksitBharat2027. This will include, but is not limited to, #GeoAI #GNSS #space technology, geospatial #IoT hardware design, mini #satellite #positioning #sensors design, etc all in adherence to the National Geospatial Policy 2022, the Indian Space Policy 2023, and special preference given to the institutions that have adopted the National Education Policy 2020. The existing flagship activities like the #IITBombay #FOSSEE Geospatial #Mapathon, #National #Geospatial #Internship, #NationalGeospatial #Awards, #OpenSource #GeospatialCohort, customized #curriculum design, all #India #District, #Industry-#Academia connect, etc shall continue.
The Geospatial vertical of the FOSSEE project, developed at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay promotes the usage and adoption of Free/Libre Open Source Software and Hardware in academic institutions and industry across India. All Geospatial FOSSEE activities are organized under the aegis of the National Mission on Education Through ICT, Ministry of Education, Government of India, New Delhi.
